Terms and Conditions
The terms that govern every booking with DTDC Packers and Movers. Please read before confirming your move.
1. The Service Provider
These terms apply between you (the customer) and DTDC Packers and Movers, a GST registered service provider located at J-193, Palam Vihar, Gurugram, 122017, Haryana, India. By confirming a booking — by paying an advance, signing a quotation, or instructing us in writing to proceed — you accept these terms.
2. Quotations
- Quotations are prepared after a physical or video survey and are itemised: packing, transport, labour, insurance, applicable taxes, and any service-specific charges.
- A quotation is valid for the period stated on it (typically 15 days) and for the goods, addresses, and access conditions recorded at survey.
- If the scope changes — additional items, changed addresses, different floor or access conditions — the price is revised and agreed with you before work continues.
3. Booking and Payment
- A booking is confirmed on receipt of the advance stated in the quotation. The balance is payable at delivery unless the quotation states otherwise.
- We accept UPI, bank transfer, and cash. GST invoices are issued for all payments.
- Rescheduling and cancellation are governed by our Booking and Cancellation Policy.
4. Customer Responsibilities
- Declare all items to be moved at survey, including high-value items, and disclose access constraints at both addresses.
- Keep cash, jewellery, and personal documents with you — these are excluded from our carriage and from insurance cover.
- Do not include prohibited or illegal goods in the consignment: flammables, explosives, contraband, or items restricted by transport or customs law. You are responsible for the contents of owner-packed cartons.
- Ensure someone authorised is present at packing, pickup, and delivery to sign the inventory and receipts.
5. Our Responsibilities
- Perform packing, handling, transport, storage, and delivery with reasonable skill and care, using trained crews and appropriate materials.
- Document the consignment: itemised inventory at packing, consignment note (bilty) in transit, and joint verification at delivery.
- Meet the delivery window stated in the quotation, subject to clause 7.
6. Liability and Insurance
- Transit insurance is offered on every consignment and is recommended for long-distance and high-value moves. Coverage, exclusions, and premium are explained before you opt in.
- Without insurance, our liability for loss or damage is limited to statutory carrier liability under applicable Indian law.
- Damage must be noted during joint delivery inspection, on the delivery receipt, before signing. Claims on insured consignments follow the insurer's documented process; we assist with filing and follow-up.
- We are not liable for: contents of owner-packed cartons, undeclared items, inherent defects, electrical or mechanical derangement without external damage, and items excluded under clause 4.
7. Delays Beyond Our Control
Delivery windows may be affected by events outside our reasonable control: weather, road closures, strikes, civil disturbance, regulatory checkposts, or customs processing on international moves. We inform you promptly, share revised timelines, and complete the delivery as early as conditions allow. Such delays do not constitute breach of these terms.
8. Storage
Goods held under our warehouse and storage service are governed by the storage terms on the intake inventory, including declared value, storage charges, and release conditions. Storage charges unpaid for 90 days after written notice may result in a lien over the stored goods to the extent permitted by law.
